hi and welcome to the third and final installment in cutie amaze jawbone aging video series in parts 1 & 2 cutie I’m a CEO and wildlife biologist Brian Murphy discussed and demonstrated the tooth replacement and wear technique for aging deer by the jawbone here in part 3 it’s time to put what you learn to the test if you need to review videos 1 & 2 before taking the quiz for the quiz we’ve selected 9 jaw bones that have an age by certified wildlife biologist in the quiz you’ll be shown a jaw bone and then a countdown clock will begin when the countdown expires the estimated age of that jaw bone will be revealed however don’t feel rushed if any time you need to pause the video and examine the job on longer try to pinpoint the exact age of the jaw bone if you can but you should be able to place each jaw bone into 104 groups fawns yearlings middle aged adults those that are two and a half and three and a half years old and mature adults those that are four and a half years old and older all right the quiz is about to begin good luck well that’s the end of the quiz were you able to age all 9 jaw bones into one of the four groups correctly if not go back and review videos one and two to see where you made errors hopefully you did well but no matter how well you did it’s important to remember that the more you practice ageing jaw bones the better you’ll get with the tooth replacement and wear technique those of us here at QT ma hope that you found this video series on Aging jaw bones useful and informational and don’t forget the ability to age dear after harvest is one of the most important skills for any dear manager involved in a quality deer management program knowing the age structure of your deer herd will help you set realistic goals and expectations you..
